Steps

1
Done

Gather together your ingredients and cut your acorn squash in half. Be very careful here! The squashes are at odd angles and can be slippery! When cut in half, scoop out the pulp and seeds and throw away. If you want, you can actually bake these seeds later. They taste a lot like pumpkin seeds!

2
Done

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Mix together the brown sugar, maple syrup, unsalted butter, salt, and black pepper in a bowl. Brush in the mixture inside the squash and also on the meaty rim around it. Cook them in your oven for about one hour.

3
Done

Start checking your squash after about 45 minutes. After this time, they may burn quickly! When the you can poke the squash easily with a fork they are done. Take them out carefully and brush the leftover mixture around the inside and rim of the squash. Put on a plate and enjoy!
