This is a no beans Texas chili recipe cooked low and slow in a slow cooker! Easy to throw together in the morning and have some awesome chili for dinner or a late lunch! The slow cooking really meld the flavors together for a great taste!

 

Savory Texas Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Beef Stew Meat
  • 2 tbp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tbp Salt
  • 1 tbp Brown Sugar
  • 1 Onions
  • 6 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 tbp Cumin
  • 1 can Fire Roasted Diced Green Chilies
  • 1 tbp Chili Powder
  • 1 can Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 bunch Green Onions
  • 1 cup Colby-Jack Cheese

Get a large bowl and add your stew meat, salt, and brown sugar. Mix well. Heat up your vegetable oil in a pan and throw in your beef mixture cook on medium high heat until brown. You are looking to caramelize the brown sugar a bit and get that wonderful taste! Remove the beef and place into your slow cooker.

If your pan is dry, add another tablespoon oil vegetable oil and cook your diced onion until translucent. Next, stir in your green chilies and heat them up. Stir in the cumin, chili powder, and diced garlic and heat through to combine the flavors. Add your fire roasted tomatoes with the liquid in the can and cook to combine the ingredients. Finally, add the entire mixture to your slow cooker and cook for about 8 hours on low.

When your chili is done, ladle a portion into a bowl, top with cheese and green onions and dig in!
