Bacon Cheddar and Jalapeno Stuffed Burgers

Bacon. Cheddar. Jalapenos. In a burger.

Bacon, cheddar, and jalapeno stuffed burgers.

    • For the filling

Bacon Cheddar and Jalapeno Stuffed Burgers

    • 3 LBS Ground Beef
    • 8 Strips Bacon
    • 6 Ounces Cheddar Cheese
    • 2 Jalapeno Peppers
    • To Taste Garlic Salt
    • To Taste Pepper
    • 4 Ounces Worcestershire Sauce
    • 2 Large Eggs

    Takes ,
    serves 2.

First you’ll want to get your bacon cooked. Since there is multiple prep steps, putting your bacon in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes will be fine. You can also pan fry it. Just make sure your bacon is of the crispy variety, since it’ll be chopped and mixed with other ingredients for your filling.

Once the bacon is done, in a medium bowl, mix your diced jalapenos, 2 eggs, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped bacon. With your hands, create one inch sized “discs” and set aside on a plate. Once you’re done with those, set them in the freezer for 20 minutes to harden slightly.

While your fillers are freezing, create 4 equal sized burger “bowls”. They should still be burger shaped, but with a big hole in the middle. You’ll want to create these bowls in order to insert the fillings. These need to be large sized burgers that way the fillings can fit. After that, you’ll need to create the bowl “toppers”. These are essentially very thin, but wide burgers pattys.

After your fillers are done in the freezer, insert them into the burger bowls, lay the burger “toppers”, and pinch the two together with your fingers.

    Time for the grill!

Ideally this is done with a grill that has three burners. One of the side burners on high, the middle on low, and the other side completely off. Since these are such larger burgers, you’ll want them to be on indirect heat. This is to ensure a thorough cook, and to avoid them flaming up hot inside your grill.

Place the burgers on the indirect heat for ten minutes on each side. Pro Tip: Turn slightly after about 3 minutes to get those beautiful “grill marks”.

Feel free to use your favorite burger toppings and bun to finish it off!

    10 minutes

    Cook Bacon

You want your bacon cripsy, enough that you can chop it up easily. This will be used for mixing with other ingredients

    2 Minutes

    Dice Jalapenos

Take 2 of your large jalapenos and dice them. You want about quarter inch squares.

    5 minutes

Mix Jalapenos, Cheddar Cheese, and Bacon.

Get a medium sized mixing bowl, and combine jalapenos, cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, and raw eggs together. Mix well.

    25 Minutes

    Create burger stuffing then freeze

From your mixture, use your hands to create inch round "discs" of stuffing.
Set in freezer for 20 minutes.

    10 Minutes

Mold your burger "bowls" and "toppers"

While your stuffers are cooling down in the freezer, you'll want to create large enough burger "Bowls" to fit them in. You'll need roughly a half pound bowl per burger.
After that, create the "toppers". This is just a really thin, flat burger, essentially used to just cover the bowl.
Once the stuffers are done in the freezer, insert them into the burger "Bowls".

    5 Minutes

Add the burger "topper" and fuse together.

Lay the burger "topper" on the bowl, and carefully use your fingers to fuse the two parts together. Then round it off by spinning it in the palms of your hands.

    20 minutes

    Start Grilling!

Get your grill going. Since this are huge, thick burgers, you'll want to use indirect heat so as to not burn them. BBQ each side for 10 minutes.

    1 Minute

Now you're done! Add your favorite toppings, and enjoy!

The ingredients call for Worcester shire sauce and garlic salt, but the directions do not tell you what to do with it. In the process of trying this recipe. I’ll work it out, but was just wondering.
